What’s New: Smarter Loan Emails (v1.5.1)

The Law Library by JADE and its companion apps just got a batch of improvements to loan emails. Here is what is new in v1.5.1.

What changed

Richer reminders. Every loan reminder now shows the book cover, names the library the book belongs to (correct even for a colleague’s copy or another chambers’ copy), says who sent it, and gives return and renewal steps tailored to that particular loan.

Renew by replying. You can now renew a loan just by replying to the reminder email – no login and no app. If it is a chambers copy it renews straight away and you receive a confirmation with the new due date; if it is a colleague’s or another library’s copy, your reply is forwarded to the owner for approval.

Two fixes under the hood: a sign-in issue affecting academic and judge accounts, and a reliability fix for scheduled background jobs.

Across the JADE law apps

These improvements sit alongside the wider suite: The Law Library at lawlibrary.io, Conspectus at brief.lawlibrary.io (also conspectus.lawlibrary.io), Jot at jot.lawlibrary.io, and the CPD Recorder at cpd.lawlibrary.io.
